Blog Assignment #4

*For my final, my big idea is desire. I am trying to find the deep meanings of the word desire and incorporate them into my project. I am taking every different meaning of desire into account. I want love and longingness to be incorporated into my project, along with different symbols of desire. What I've come up with so far is that I want my project to focus on the color red. I am incorporating a love quote, lips, flowers, and I still have more images to find for my project. I want it to be abstract, but at the same time, still get across the point I want to portray. All the images will work together to create one huge symbol of desire. I want people to look at my project and experience strong emotions while looking at it, such as love and maybe confusion. I want my final to be interpreted differently by different people based on what kind of person they are. If it is someone that believes in love, I hope that they will feel desired, passion and happiness when they look at my project.

*My big idea is desire and my references include the artwork of Zoren Gold and Minori Murakami, the time era of the 1920s, and Ancient Greek Culture. Zoren Gold and Minori Murakami are two artists who I have done previous research on. They both have a lot of passion in their artwork and I pretty much formed my big idea of desire around their artwork. Everything they do is so beautiful and has so much meaning in it. They want to capture fashion in such an abstract and beautiful way, and it is very inspiring. All of their models and their artwork shows a lot of passion and desire. On this website, you can view many examples of their artwork. Gold/Murakami The 1920s were a very inspiring time era for my project. While alcohol was illegal during this time, it just made desire for one another even stronger. The clothes and beauty of the women of this time are good examples of what I am trying to portray in my project. Lastly, the Ancient Greek Culture has inspired me with the idea of their Gods. The famous Aphrodite was the Greek Goddess of Love, Beauty, and Sexuality. All of these are things in which I am trying to incorporate in my project. In this link, I found many pictures of Aphrodite and her story. Aphrodite

These are both examples of girls from the 1920s that inspired my final project.

*A Photoshop technique that I hope to incorporate in my final project is the Realistic Water Reflection. I don't know if I have anything to use it on yet, but I've been wanting to use this technique all quarter, so hopefully I can find something to incorporate it with. This is a link to the tutorial. Blog Assignment #3

Today, I chose two different artists that seemed to inspire me for my final project.

My first artist is actually a twosome, Zoren Gold and Minori Murakami. Gold is a photographer and Murakami is a graphic designer. Together they create some of the must beautiful and artistic photos I have ever seen. Almost all of their art deals with high fashion. The artwork is so abstract and beautiful and unlike anything I've ever seen. I think their big idea in most of their artwork is desire and abstract/intense thought. Their artwork is so inspiring to me, because it seems that they absolutely love what they do, they love creating beautiful images involving fashion. All the models in their photos are all very beautiful and in an interview I read of them, they seem so confident and inspired. Zoren and Minori definitely inspire my ideas for my final project. Their photos flow so well and the colors and design of pretty much every piece is beautiful. One of the big ideas I was thinking of using in my final project was abstractness, and their images are very abstract. Their artwork comes across as being very spontaneous and they just go for it, and that's a good state of mind to have while working on my final project.

Here are some examples of their artwork

The next artist I would like to talk about is Kenny B Harris. He is a designer and illustrator. He creates many things, such as advertisements, graphics, clothing, album art, and claims to currently be working on a video. All of his art is so interesting. Some of his artwork is very dark, but it still has meaning. He is very talented, and you can tell that by just looking through some of his images. He seems to have an eye for art. I would say that in his graphics, his big idea is probably darkness. In his advertisements his idea would probably be sharpness and being able to get a certain point across. He has a link on his website that can take you to all of his inspirations and there is just a list of different artists that he is inspired by, and that's pretty amazing. This artist will definitely inspire me if I continue to elaborate on the idea of light vs darkness. A lot of his artwork is very soft, but at the same time, it is dark and that's something I would like to do in my final. This artist will absolutely help me with my final project.
